Poetry for Poetry

P
Everyone loves a proper poem
Where love and hate mingle among the trees
And profound thoughts twist and turn
And skip and dance in the breeze

Grown men pondering every sentence and each pause
Agonising as poets like to do, the words of every verse
As they wonder what Shakespeare would have done
With three mad old witches and a curse

And as I say "three mad old witches that’s so Easy"
These great poets look upon me with great distain
As I shout "eye of newt and leg of frog"
But they insist I’m a silly chap and totally insane

    1. I am hoping that by the time I get to Z I will have got the hang of this poetry lark. I think X might be a bit tricky and I may have to cheat.

  2. And Q. Watch out for Q, though X is definitely the worst. I'll take silly poems over Shakespeare. I know his language is highly revered, but it confuses the heck out of me. And people say math is difficult!

    1. Q is OK poetry for queues DAMN I just thought of that and its too late now as I can not be bother to write another poem about Q.

I am not a fan of Shakespeare but I have rewritten a couple of his things in the post. I would also like to think my words confuse folk. . . . .I know my typing confuses me.

  3. Poetry is the language of love...although I would prefer a box of Ferrero Rocher.

    1. Not sure about Poetry and love Miss Lily I dont think mine is in that sort of area. I have a friend who would stick a Ferrero Rocher in their ice cream machine so that you ended up with ice cream with a frozen Ferrero Rocher centre. . . great but you have to watch it does not destroy your teeth as it can be a bit hard.

  4. Agonizing is right. I like poetry, but I prefer enjoying words to agonizing over them. :)

    1. Indeed and enjoying words is what this blog is all about well that and drawing a few pictures and eating a bit of cake.

  5. We all have to be a bit daft to get by in this world. Poetry is merely insanity organized into lines of verse.
